Dr. Olorunyomi Segun Omotayo

Biography

Dr. Omotayo Segun Olorunyomi was born on 13th August into the family of Dr G.F. Olorunyomi and Mrs R.A. Olorunyomi of Ekiti East Local Government. He began his early education at St. Peter's Primary School, Ikole Ekiti in 1981, completing it in 1987. He proceeded to Christ School, Ado Ekiti and earned the West African School Certificate in 1993.

He obtained an HND in Computer Science (Upper Credit) from Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State, before proceeding to the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), where he earned a Postgraduate Diploma, Master of Technology, and a PhD in Computer Science in 2015, specialising in Computer Architecture and Embedded Systems. His quest for further knowledge led him to Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti in 2021, where he is pursuing a second PhD in Cybersecurity.

Dr. Olorunyomi began his career in the Ekiti State Teaching Service as a Mathematics teacher in January 2004. On 28th October 2008, he transitioned to the Ekiti State Civil Service, rising to the rank of Chief Database Administrator and currently serving as Data Centre Manager (SIFMIS) at the Office of the Accountant-General.

He is the President of the Nigeria Information Technology Professionals in Civil and Public Service (NITPCS), Chairman of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), and the Chief Executive Officer of Divine Treasure Farm and Agro Allied Limited. Dr. Olorunyomi is happily married and blessed with children.
